A delivery driver handing a carton to a kirana shopkeeper beside a mini truck in the morning light

A family-run FMCG distributor supplying packaged foods and household goods to neighbourhood kirana counters across Davanagere, with its own small fleet and a weekly beat calendar.

The challenge

The distributor ran two mini trucks over six weekly beats covering about 140 kirana counters. The stop order was set by driver habit, fuel bills kept climbing, and shops at the tail of each beat regularly reported late or skipped deliveries.

Stop order on each beat followed driver habit, not the shortest path.
Fuel bills on the two mini trucks kept climbing month on month.
Shops at the tail of each beat were the ones that got late or skipped deliveries.
There was no record of when a counter was actually served, so disputes came down to memory.

What Voder did

In a 10-week pilot, Voder replanned each beat as a single optimised multi-stop route on the Mini Truck and Pickup / Van classes, with a photo and timestamp at every counter and one consolidated invoice per week.

1

Mapped every counter

The six weekly beats and their roughly 140 counters were loaded into Voder as saved stops, grouped by the day each beat runs.

2

One optimised route per beat

Each beat became a single multi-stop route with the stop order set by distance, so the tail of the beat is no longer the part that slips.

3

The right vehicle for the load

Heavier beats ran on the Mini Truck class and lighter ones on a Pickup / Van, matched to the week's order volume.

4

Proof at every counter

A photo and timestamp at each drop, plus one consolidated digital invoice a week, replaced memory and paper slips.

Beats now finish on the day they are planned, the tail-end shops stopped calling, and the partners review a weekly photo trail instead of settling arguments from memory.

The route sheet the app gives is better than what our senior driver carried in his head for years. Shops at the end of the line stopped calling to complain.
