Live in Davanagere, rolling out across India

Every logistics pitch deck has a map of India covered in dots. Ours has one solid dot and a plan. The honest story of scaling a platform from a tier-2 city.

Every logistics pitch deck has a map of India covered in dots. Ours has one solid dot, Davanagere, and a plan for the rest. This is the honest version of why we started here, what live actually means to us, and how the rollout works.

Transolux Transport began in 2019, when Sharath Raj and Kiran put a small fleet to work on local transport jobs in Davanagere. The early business ran on a diary, a phone and diesel arithmetic. Voder, the platform, came later, built to run the operation we already understood from the loading dock, not from a slide.

Why a tier-2 city first

Davanagere has real, daily freight: the maize mandi, the arecanut trade, KIADB units, and thousands of households and shops. Costs are lower here, so mistakes are survivable. And feedback is unmissable: if the pricing is wrong, the trader tells you at the loading point, in Kannada, loudly. That feedback loop is what built the product.

  • Prices that are final, because trust is the working currency here.
  • A product that works fully in Kannada, because that is the language of the loading dock.
  • Payouts on request, because drivers here run on weekly fuel credit and cannot wait for a fixed pay day.
  • Five vehicle classes, from a 20 kg two-wheeler box to a 12-ton HGV, because demand here is lumpy.

What live actually means

Live, for us, is a strict word. In Davanagere all three services run today: on-demand delivery, vehicle rental with a driver, and packers and movers, with local dispatch, Kannada support, and driver onboarding done in person at our office. If we cannot staff a city that way, the app does not switch on there. We would rather be dependable in one city than patchy in ten.

The rollout follows the roads we know. Harihar first, which for freight purposes is nearly the same market. Then the NH-48 corridor: Chitradurga and Hubballi, then Bengaluru. Each launch repeats the same on-the-ground checklist, an office, a dispatch team, driver onboarding and vetted crews, before a single booking is accepted.

“We did not pick Davanagere as a strategy; it is home. The strategy came later, when we understood how much of India works like this city.”
Sharath Raj, co-founder, Transolux Transport

What we will not do

We will not run a discount blitz to buy a launch-week chart. A discount can rent a customer for a month; only a kept promise keeps one. We track three numbers city by city: on-time percentage, damage claims per thousand bookings, and how many drivers who joined a year ago are still with us. When those hold in a new city, we expand. When they slip, we stop and fix.

To the shopkeepers of Mandipet who tried an unfamiliar app, and the drivers who bet a season's earnings on our word: this platform is built on your patience. We intend to repay it, city by city.
